TLDR Nurses need more education to better understand and manage Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
This integrative review examined nurses' knowledge and perceptions of caring for individuals with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), involving 11 studies and approximately 1002 nurses. The analysis identified three main themes: clinical manifestations, management, and health literacy. The findings revealed significant knowledge deficits among nurses, similar to other healthcare practitioners, highlighting the need for educational interventions. The study concludes that enhancing educational support and developing care protocols are essential to improve the understanding and management of PCOS, ultimately benefiting those affected by the condition.
