TLDR Orange peel-based hair serum improves hair texture, reduces dandruff, and promotes healthy growth.
The study focuses on developing and evaluating an organic hair serum using orange peel extract, which contains beneficial phytochemicals like flavonoids, vitamin C, and essential oils. These compounds offer antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory benefits for scalp and hair health. Three serum formulations (F1, F2, and F3) were created and tested for physicochemical properties, phytochemical content, and stability. Formulation F3 showed superior stability and effectiveness. The research highlights the potential of using natural waste resources, such as orange peel, to create sustainable and environmentally friendly cosmetic products that improve hair texture, reduce dandruff, and promote healthy hair growth. Further research could enhance its commercial viability in the herbal cosmetic industry.
