Medical ozone therapy, used for conditions like hair growth, can lead to serious complications, as demonstrated in a case involving a 43-year-old woman who experienced worsening alopecia and scarring after ozone injections. Despite the potential cellular benefits of ozone therapy, the risks, including poor wound healing, may outweigh these benefits. The patient's complications were managed with surgical intervention and 40 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which improved tissue vascularity and quality, leading to acceptable cosmetic results. This case highlights the significant clinical risks associated with medical ozone therapy.
