TLDR Amivantamab treatment often causes skin issues that can affect quality of life and treatment continuation.
This study evaluated the cutaneous toxicities associated with amivantamab treatment in 60 patients at a tertiary oncology center. Common dermatological adverse events (dAEs) included acneiform rash (80%), paronychia (60%), and scalp involvement (53%). These dAEs often impacted quality of life and led to dose reductions in 15% of patients and treatment discontinuation in 7%. Prophylactic skincare regimens did not significantly reduce the incidence of paronychia or scalp involvement. The study highlights the importance of effective management of dAEs to maintain cancer treatment efficacy and suggests a multidisciplinary approach for optimal management.
