TLDR Personalized Ayurvedic treatment can effectively regrow hair in androgenetic alopecia.
This case report discusses the treatment of a 37-year-old male with androgenetic alopecia (Khalitya) using Ayurvedic methods, including Puncture Therapy (Viddhakarma) and various herbal medications. The patient, classified as Type VI on the Norwood–Hamilton scale, experienced significant hair loss in the frontal and vertex regions. The treatment plan involved weekly sessions of Viddhakarma and a regimen of Ayurvedic drugs over four months. The patient showed new hair growth and improved hair quality, with a reduction in scalp warmth sensation. The study suggests that Ayurveda can effectively manage androgenetic alopecia, though further research is needed.
