TLDR Women with PCOS have more frequent menstrual pain, but the pain's intensity is similar to those without PCOS.
This case-control study involving 92 women examined the effect of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) on dysmenorrhea. The findings revealed that while the frequency of dysmenorrhea is higher in women with PCOS, the intensity of menstrual pain does not differ significantly between those with and without PCOS. The study highlights the increased occurrence of menstrual pain in women with PCOS, although the severity remains unchanged.
