TLDR PDO threads may help regrow hair and increase thickness in hair loss.
This review article explores the use of polydioxanone (PDO) threads as a novel treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a common form of hair loss affecting both men and women. The authors discuss how PDO threads, either alone or in combination with other treatments, can stimulate hair regrowth by acting as biostimulators, enhancing vascularization, and prolonging the anagen phase of hair growth. The review concludes that PDO threads offer a promising, minimally invasive option for revitalizing hair follicles, increasing hair thickness, and density. However, further research is needed to standardize treatment protocols and optimize outcomes.
