TLDR Ayurvedic treatments can effectively regrow hair in alopecia areata.
A 36-year-old female with alopecia areata, characterized by patchy hair loss, was treated using Ayurvedic methods including Pracchanna Karma and Shamana Chikitsa over 60 days. The treatment involved bloodletting, application of herbal pastes, and internal medications. Significant improvement was observed, with complete hair regrowth and reduction in patch size, as indicated by the ALODEX score. This case report suggests that Ayurvedic treatments, particularly Panchakarma procedures, can effectively manage alopecia areata.
