TLDR PRP may help with hair loss, but more research is needed.
This review from 2022 examined the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). While PRP was reported to be effective with minimal side effects, the studies reviewed were methodologically weak, making it difficult to draw definitive conclusions about its clinical efficacy. Despite this, many patients reported satisfaction with the results. The review highlighted the need for more robust, randomized controlled trials to better understand PRP's effectiveness. It also suggested that combining PRP with other treatments might enhance hair growth outcomes.
