TLDR Platelet-rich plasma helps protect and improve ovarian function in rats treated with cyclophosphamide.
The study investigated the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on cyclophosphamide-induced ovarian failure in albino rats. It involved 29 rats, with 24 female rats divided into three groups: a control group, a group receiving cyclophosphamide, and a group receiving both cyclophosphamide and PRP. The results indicated that cyclophosphamide led to degeneration of ovarian follicles and oocytes, impairing ovarian function. However, the group treated with PRP showed improved ovarian follicle appearance and function. The study concluded that PRP had protective effects on ovarian tissues and functions, suggesting its potential use alongside cyclophosphamide to help restore ovarian tissues.
