TLDR PRS injections can improve knee function and reduce pain for up to a year.
The study investigated the effects of a single injection of Platelet Rich Stroma (PRS), a combination of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and tissue-Stromal Vascular Fraction (tSVF), on knee osteoarthritis in 15 patients. Over 12 months, significant improvements were observed in pain, functionality, and stiffness, as indicated by VAS and WOMAC scores, with no significant complications reported. Although MRI showed no changes in cartilage or synovitis, patients experienced enhanced physical and socio-emotional well-being. The study concluded that PRS injections could improve knee function and reduce pain and stiffness, but emphasized the need for larger, controlled trials to optimize treatment and assess long-term outcomes.
