TLDR Women with PCOS often feel anxious and distressed about their appearance, especially in social situations.
The study explored the psychosocial effects of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) on 180 single women in Lahore and Gujranwala. It found a significant positive correlation between appearance distress and social anxiety (r=0.41, p<0.001). Many participants visited beauty parlors to manage facial hair and used products to conceal acne. The conclusion was that women with PCOS experienced appearance-related distress and anxiety, particularly in social settings.
