TLDR Alopecia Areata causes emotional stress and stigma, but those with severe hair loss may adapt better.
The study on the psychosocial impact of Alopecia Areata (AA) reveals that individuals with AA face significant emotional burdens, negative self-perception, and stigma. Interestingly, the impact of AA is not directly correlated with the extent of hair loss. Participants with 95-100% scalp hair loss reported a lower impact, suggesting they may have adapted to living with the condition.
