A Multicentre Real-World Evaluation of Ritlecitinib in Severe Alopecia Areata: Patient-Reported Outcome Measures

    This study evaluated the real-world effectiveness of ritlecitinib in treating severe alopecia areata (AA) using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and compared it to clinical trial results. In a cohort of 52 patients, 27% achieved treatment success, defined as a SALT score ≤ 20, which was consistent with trial results. Patient-reported global impression of change at 6 months indicated overall improvement. The study highlights the importance of PROMs in assessing the psychosocial impact of AA, which traditional clinical measures may not capture. The findings suggest that larger, prospective studies are needed to better estimate real-world effectiveness.
