TLDR The Turkish version of the Alopecia Areata Quality of Life Index is reliable and valid.
The study successfully adapted the Alopecia Areata Quality of Life Index (AA-QLI) into Turkish and confirmed its reliability and validity for the Turkish population. Conducted with 78 patients, the study found a high internal consistency with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.941 and strong test-retest reliability with intraclass correlation coefficients ranging from 0.773 to 0.922. Factor analysis supported a three-factor structure, and the AA-QLI showed a positive correlation with the Dermatology Quality of Life Index (DLQI), indicating strong external validity. Overall, the AA-QLI is a reliable and valid tool for assessing the quality of life in Turkish patients with alopecia areata.
