Indralupta, an Ayurvedic condition characterized by patchy hair loss, is comparable to Alopecia Areata in modern medicine. It is classified under minor diseases by Acharya Sushrut and involves hair loss on the scalp without inflammation. The primary cause is the imbalance of Tridosha, especially Pitta and Vata, along with Rakta dushti. This review explores the samprapti (pathogenesis) of Indralupta using Shat Kriyakala, alongside the modern understanding of Alopecia Areata, to enhance comprehension of disease progression and potential interventions.
