TLDR Rosemary extracts promote more hair growth than 5% minoxidil.
The study evaluated the hair growth potential of rosemary extracts in male C57BL6//BIOU mice over 5 weeks, comparing essential oil, hydrolate, and alcoholic extract individually and in combination with shampoo and hair tonic against a 5% minoxidil control. All rosemary extract groups demonstrated significantly greater hair growth than the control groups, even outperforming the commercial 5% minoxidil (p-value < 0.05). These results suggest that rosemary extracts could be a promising natural alternative for treating alopecia.
