    This study investigated the prevalence of Scopulariopsis sp. and Penicillium sp. in African pygmy hedgehogs at a farm in Bogor District, Indonesia, using 20 hedgehogs as samples. Clinical signs observed included alopecia, crusty skin, and dermatitis. The study found that 40% of the hedgehogs were infected with Scopulariopsis sp., 30% with Penicillium sp., and 20% were co-infected, resulting in a total prevalence of 90%. This research is the first to isolate these fungi from hedgehogs in Indonesia, highlighting their potential as zoonotic pathogens. The study suggests further research to expand the sample area and improve understanding of fungal diseases in these animals.
