An elderly man was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis-like tinea capitis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, highlighting the frequent misdiagnosis of adult tinea capitis, particularly in men. Key diagnostic indicators included scale and alopecia, and the patient's history of tinea pedis and onychomycosis prompted timely mycological examinations.
