TLDR The combination showed limited antifungal effects against dandruff-causing fungus.
This preliminary study investigated the antifungal effects of a combination of selenium-treated Pisum sativum sprout extract and selenite-resistant bacterial extract against Malassezia furfur, a fungus linked to dandruff. The results showed limited antifungal activity, with only minimal visible inhibition. Despite these limited findings, the study proposes a novel biological approach for anti-dandruff treatment, highlighting the need for further research to optimize extract concentrations and perform quantitative antifungal assays to validate the therapeutic potential of this combination.
