TLDR Stress does not significantly cause hair loss among medical students.
A study conducted among 216 undergraduate medical students at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital found that 13.88% experienced excessive hair loss, with a higher prevalence in females (20.87%) compared to males (8.8%). Despite varying stress levels among participants, no significant association was found between stress and hair loss. Interestingly, male students had higher odds of experiencing hair loss compared to females. Overall, hair fall was not common among the students, and stress did not significantly impact hair loss.
