TLDR Stress causes hair loss in students, needing stress management to improve health.
The study at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh examined stress-induced hair loss among 928 undergraduate students, finding a significant link between high stress levels and hair loss, particularly in females. It reported that 67.6% of students experienced moderate stress, with 44.2% showing significant hair loss. Females were more affected, with 52.1% testing positive for hair fall compared to 27.1% of males. The study noted that aggressive hair brushing and hot showers were associated with lower hair loss rates. It underscores the importance of stress management interventions to reduce hair loss among students, despite limitations like its cross-sectional design and self-reported data.
