TLDR Combining radiofrequency and ultrasound significantly boosts skin's natural hyaluronic acid production.
The study explored a novel technology combining monopolar radiofrequency (RF) and targeted ultrasound (TUS) to enhance natural hyaluronic acid (HA) production in the skin for facial rejuvenation. Conducted on 7 subjects aged 51-64, it compared histological changes in skin tissue with RF and TUS, RF alone, and a control. Results showed a significant 67.69% increase in HA production with the combined RF and TUS treatment, compared to a 9.56% increase with RF alone, suggesting the combination as a promising noninvasive alternative to traditional HA fillers. The study confirmed the clinical efficacy and safety of this technology, though the small sample size indicates a need for further research.
