TLDR COVID-19 can cause intense hair loss in women, usually resolving in 1 to 4 months.
The study reviewed 13 articles to investigate the clinical characteristics of Telogen Effluvium induced by COVID-19 infection. It found that women were predominantly diagnosed with this condition, which was characterized by intense hair loss, reduced hair density, and empty follicular units or units with only one hair. Some cases also showed decreased hair thickness and difficulty in bending the hair. The average time for the development of Telogen Effluvium was 2 months, with resolution occurring between 1 to 4 months.
