TLDR Topical eflornithine effectively reduces facial hair in women and improves quality of life.
Topical eflornithine is an effective treatment for hirsutism in women, significantly reducing facial hair growth and improving quality of life. The study, which involved a systematic literature review of articles from 2001 to 2006, found that eflornithine works well both as a standalone treatment and when combined with laser or intense pulsed light therapies. The review also assessed the pharmacokinetics and safety of eflornithine, supporting its use as a beneficial intervention for managing hirsutism.
