TLDR Asthimajjapachak Churna is more effective than Shwadamshtradi Rasayana Churna for reducing hair fall.
A randomized open-label trial was conducted on 60 young females experiencing hair fall to compare the efficacy of two Ayurvedic formulations: Asthimajjapachak Churna (AMC) and Shwadamshtradi Rasayana Churna (SRC). The study found that AMC provided a 58.45% therapeutic relief in managing hair fall, significantly higher than the 35.94% relief observed with SRC. The trial highlighted the involvement of Asthigata dosha in hair fall, with AMC effectively alleviating this dosha, promoting the formation of healthy hair. The results suggest that addressing Asthivaha srotas dushti is crucial for managing hair fall, particularly in patients with Pitta dominant prakruti and diets high in salty and spicy flavors.
