Trichogenic Property of Dalandan (Citrus Aurantium) Peel Oil on Shaved Albino ICR Mice

The study on Citrus aurantium (dalandan) peel oil demonstrated that a 10% concentration effectively promoted hair growth in shaved albino ICR mice, improving hair length and follicle count more than negative controls and 5% minoxidil. In contrast, a 100% concentration caused skin irritation and was less effective, suggesting potential dermal toxicity at higher doses. Compounds like limonene in the oil may enhance hair growth through specific pathways and antioxidant effects. The findings indicate that 10% C. aurantium peel oil could be a promising natural hair growth treatment, though further research, including human trials, is needed to verify its efficacy and safety.
