A study of 95 medical students at Universitas Sumatera Utara found a significant correlation between triglyceride levels and acne vulgaris severity, with higher triglyceride levels linked to more severe acne (P-value of 0.007). However, no significant relationship was observed between Body Mass Index (BMI) and acne severity. These findings suggest that triglycerides may be a modifiable factor in acne treatment, highlighting the need for further research to explore the role of lipid metabolism in acne development.
