TLDR The treatment effectively reduces menopausal symptoms and is well tolerated.
The study assessed the efficacy of an ultra-low dose combination of 0.5 mg estradiol and 2.5 mg dydrogesterone in reducing menopausal symptoms among 583 postmenopausal women from Europe and China. It found a significant reduction in hot flushes, with a mean difference of -1.5 per day compared to placebo (p < 0.001), and improvements in health-related quality of life, including psychological symptoms and vaginal dryness. The treatment was well tolerated, with no significant differences in serious adverse events between groups. The findings support the use of this regimen as an effective treatment for menopausal symptoms across diverse ethnicities.
