TLDR Treatment with prednisolone and dapsone stopped new blisters and partially healed previous ones.
A 68-year-old woman presented with mucous membrane pemphigoid, characterized by recurrent mucocutaneous blisters and progressive scalp hair loss over several years. Initially, she experienced tense blisters on her back, chest, and arms, which later involved her oral cavity and scalp, leading to painful erosions and cicatricial alopecia. Histological examination revealed subepidermal bullae with eosinophilic infiltrate, and direct immunofluorescence confirmed the diagnosis. Treatment with prednisolone and dapsone halted the formation of new blisters, and partial healing of previous erosions was observed after 3 months.
