TLDR Chemotherapy can harm kidneys in breast cancer patients.
The study investigated the nephrotoxic effects of breast cancer treatment in post-menopausal patients with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. Blood samples from these patients, who were treated with surgery, chemotherapy, and possibly radiotherapy and hormonal therapy, showed a significant increase in urea and creatinine levels after chemotherapy. This indicates that such cancer treatments can lead to nephrotoxicity.
