TLDR Trichoscopy is better than trichogram for diagnosing female hair loss.
The study compared the effectiveness of trichoscopy and trichogram in diagnosing female androgenetic alopecia (FAGA). The results showed that trichoscopy is a valuable and superior method to the trichogram for the diagnosis of FAGA, especially in early cases. Trichoscopic features of FAGA are diversity of hair shaft diameter, peripilar signs, and empty follicles. The study confirms that trichoscopy represents a valuable tool for the diagnosis of FAGA.

A doctor advised against taking finasteride after a hair transplant, suggesting the patient had reached their final balding pattern, but many users disagreed, recommending medications like minoxidil and finasteride to prevent further hair loss. The consensus was to seek a second opinion, as the advice seemed financially motivated rather than medically sound.
