TLDR Platelet-rich plasma treatment helped heal gangrene in a young woman.
This case report discusses a 20-year-old female patient with vasopressin-induced gangrene in her bilateral foot digits and right index finger, which was unresponsive to conventional treatments. The study explored the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) infiltration as an innovative treatment option. PRP was found to be effective in enhancing tissue perfusion, halting the progression of necrosis, and promoting recovery by stimulating angiogenesis, tissue regeneration, and wound healing. The report suggests that PRP infiltration could be a promising treatment for vasopressin-induced gangrene, though further studies are needed to establish its efficacy as a standard therapy.
