Vitamin D Levels and Their Relationship with the Type of Involvement in Alopecia Areata Patients

This study investigated the relationship between vitamin D levels and alopecia areata in 41 patients compared to 41 controls. The results showed no statistically significant difference in vitamin D levels between the patient and control groups, nor between different types of alopecia areata involvement (patchy, diffuse, total, and universal). Additionally, dividing participants into groups based on vitamin D levels (normal, borderline low, and low) revealed no significant differences in disease presence or extent. The study concluded that there is no significant connection between vitamin D levels and alopecia areata or its extent of involvement.
