TLDR Yangxuebushen Decoction helps prevent hair loss from chemotherapy.
Yangxuebushen Decoction (YXBSD) was found to effectively prevent hair loss in a cyclophosphamide-induced mouse model by inhibiting hair follicle apoptosis. The study showed that YXBSD promoted hair growth, improved hair follicle architecture, and increased the proportion of hair follicles in the growth phase from 15% to 30%. It also reduced hair follicle cell apoptosis from 30% to 20%, suppressed inflammatory mediators, decreased oxidative stress, and enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity. These results suggest that YXBSD could be a promising adjuvant treatment for chemotherapy-induced alopecia.
