    GlossaryBenign Tumors

abnormal cell growths that don't spread or invade tissues

Benign tumors, also known as non-cancerous tumors, are abnormal growths of cells that do not invade nearby tissues or spread to other parts of the body. While they can grow in size and may cause symptoms by pressing on surrounding structures, they are generally considered less dangerous than malignant (cancerous) tumors. Treatment may still be necessary if they cause discomfort or interfere with normal bodily functions.

High DHEA levels may contribute to hair loss by increasing DHT in hair follicles, potentially explaining why finasteride is ineffective for some. Treatments like high-dose dutasteride and RU58841 are suggested, but the underlying cause, such as adrenal issues, should be investigated.
