5 / 106 resultsresearch A novel hairless highly immunodeficient mice model optimized for in vivo imaging
Researchers have developed a novel Hairless Rag2/Jak3 KO mice model, known as Hairless R/J mice, optimized for in vivo imaging. These mice are hairless and lack T, B, and NK cell phenotypes, making them ideal for non-invasive observation of molecular behavior. Compared to traditional Nude mice, Hairless R/J mice have thinner skin and superior optical properties, enhancing imaging capabilities. The model was tested using green fluorescent beads and mCherry-expressing human cholangiocarcinoma cells, as well as Ihara cells for live imaging of tumor growth. This new model is expected to be a valuable tool for noninvasive tumor monitoring and evaluating anticancer therapies.
research Insight Into the Role of Alkaloids in the Different Signalling Pathways of Cholangiocarcinoma
Alkaloids show promise in treating cholangiocarcinoma by effectively targeting cancer cells.
research Role of β-Catenin Activation Levels and Fluctuations in Controlling Cell Fate
Proper control of β-catenin activity is crucial for development and preventing diseases like cancer.
research Wnt signaling activation: targets and therapeutic opportunities for stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine
Wnt activation shows promise for regenerative medicine but requires selective targeting to minimize risks like cancer.

Dr. Kang-Yell Choi's company, CK Regeon, is developing a drug called KY19382 for hair regeneration, which involves creating fine wounds to activate stem cells. The drug is in the formulation development stage, targeting markets like the US and Korea.
community Hair growth stimulated by allogenic adipose-derived stem cells supplemented with ATP in a mouse model of dihydrotestosterone-induced androgenetic alopecia
Adipose-derived stem cells with ATP improved hair regrowth in male and female mice with androgenetic alopecia. The most effective treatments were low dose stem cells with ATP for males and medium dose stem cells with non-liposomal ATP for females.
community [Nov 2019] The peptide AC 2 isolated from Bacillus-treated Trapa japonica fruit extract rescues DHT (dihydrotestosterone)-treated human dermal papilla cells and mediates mTORC1 signaling for autophagy and apoptosis suppression
A peptide from Japanese water chestnut fruit may help with hair loss by suppressing DHT's effect on hair follicle cell death, potentially serving as a finasteride alternative. The treatment's effectiveness and safety in humans remain uncertain.
community PTD-DBM Update: Q&A With Dr. Kang-Yell Choi
PTD-DBM is being explored for hair regrowth by targeting CXXC5, with clinical trials expected after pre-clinical studies. Users express anticipation and skepticism about its effectiveness.
community Adipocyte lipolysis activates epithelial stem cells for hair regeneration through fatty acid metabolic signaling
Fatty acid metabolic signaling can activate epithelial stem cells for hair regeneration. Oleic and palmitoleic acids showed the best results, but practical application on humans remains uncertain.
