chronic inflammation forming small cell clusters to isolate foreign substances

Granulomatous reactions are a type of chronic inflammation where the immune system forms small clusters of cells, called granulomas, to wall off substances it perceives as foreign but cannot eliminate. These reactions can occur in response to infections, such as tuberculosis, or non-infectious conditions, like sarcoidosis, and are characterized by the presence of macrophages, a type of white blood cell, often surrounded by other immune cells.
