    GlossaryHypogonadism

condition where sex glands produce insufficient hormones

Hypogonadism is a medical condition where the body's sex glands, the testes in men and the ovaries in women, produce little or no hormones. This can lead to various symptoms such as reduced libido, infertility, and in some cases, hair loss. It can be caused by genetic factors, injury, or certain medical conditions, and often requires hormone replacement therapy for management.

Creatine may counteract minoxidil's hair growth effects by closing potassium ATP channels, potentially leading to hair loss in predisposed individuals. Despite anecdotal reports, there is no conclusive evidence linking creatine to hair loss.

Despite using Dutasteride, RU58841, and Minoxidil, hair loss continues due to low testosterone levels from taking 15mg of testosterone weekly, which may not produce enough estrogen. Increasing testosterone dosage and stabilizing hormone levels might help address the issue.

Topical dutasteride is suggested as a low side-effect treatment for hair loss, with a proposed dose of 0.025% 1ml/day. It is considered better than finasteride due to its even inhibition of DHT isoforms and lower systemic absorption.
