Molluscum Contagiosum is a viral skin infection caused by the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), which leads to the development of small, firm, raised lesions or bumps on the skin. These lesions are typically painless and can appear anywhere on the body, often resolving on their own within 6 to 12 months, although they can persist longer in some cases. The condition is highly contagious and spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact or by touching contaminated objects.
