July 2016 in “Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology” The document concludes that insulin resistance is key in PCOS development and early treatment is crucial to prevent complications.
January 2025 in “International Journal of Unani and Integrative Medicine” Combining modern and Unani treatments may offer better care for hirsutism in PCOS.
November 2025 in “Frontiers in Endocrinology” Apigenin and ellagic acid may help manage PCOS symptoms.
January 2024 in “Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Science” This study investigates the potential of phytocompounds from Saraca asoca for treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) by targeting the ovarian steroidogenesis pathway. Using in-silico methods, 56 ligands were analyzed for their binding affinity to key enzymes and receptors involved in hormone production. Procyanidin B2 and leucopelargonidin showed the highest docking scores, indicating strong potential as inhibitors of aromatase and 17-HSD1, which are involved in estrogen and testosterone biosynthesis. The top seven compounds, including procyanidin B2 and leucopelargonidin, met drug-likeness criteria and demonstrated favorable chemical and biological reactivity, suggesting their promise as treatments for hormonal imbalance in PCOS.
December 2016 in “University of Birmingham Institutional Research Archive (University of Birmingham)” Steroid-producing capabilities in certain cancers may contribute to treatment resistance.
