This case report describes a 72-year-old woman with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) linked to a novel genetic variant, c.980_984dup, in the COL1A2 gene, marking the first documented instance of hereditary OSAS due to this mutation. The patient, who had a history of insomnia and other medical issues such as joint hypermobility and hair loss, showed improvement with nocturnal active positive airway pressure treatment.
