research 44182 Treatment with Oral Janus Kinase Inhibitors in Adults Patients with Alopecia Areata: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of oral Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) in treating alopecia areata (AA) in 1,010 adult patients. The study analyzed data from 9 articles and found that JAKi, including tofacitinib, ruxolitinib, baracitinib, CTP-543, ritlecitinib, and brepocitinib, achieved a clinical response success rate of 48.3% based on the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) 50. The results indicate that JAKi are effective for AA treatment, but further research is needed to assess long-term effects and recurrence rates.
