In a study of 324 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 17% reported flare symptoms following COVID-19 vaccination, with common issues including joint pain, fatigue, hair loss, and myalgia. Most flares were mild, though 9% required hospitalization. The study found no association between vaccine type and flare symptoms, suggesting that repeated COVID-19 vaccinations are generally well-tolerated in SLE patients. Current prednisolone use showed a borderline association with flare symptoms, but this finding should be interpreted with caution.
