research Overview of Follicular Extraction
Follicular unit extraction is a hair transplant method that can leave small scars and uses various tools for harvesting hair from different body parts.
research Hair Restoration / Dow B. Stough /
Follicular unit transplantation, a hair restoration technique using small hair grafts, was pioneered by Bob Limmer in the late 1980s and is still widely used today with minor improvements.
research Clinicopathological insights into the phenotypic variation of autosomal recessive hypotrichosis/wooly hair by c.736T>A LIPH mutation
The conclusion is that the variation in hair thinness in patients is mostly due to the amount of underdeveloped hairs, and treatments that thicken fine hairs might work for those with mild to severe conditions.

research Cutaneous transcriptome analysis in NIH hairless mice
Key genes linked to hair growth and cancer were identified in hairless mice.
research Patterns of coverage. Uniform versus graded density.
The uniform density approach in hair restoration is less noticeable in situations like wind or exercise.
research Hairline as a Neurosurgical Landmark
This study explored the relationship between hairline topography and neuroanatomical structures, involving 500 patients for general hairline analysis and 20 patients for detailed topographic analysis using CT angiography and MRI. The research identified a clear relationship between the hairline and over 20 cranial, cerebral, and vascular structures, such as the coronal and lambdoid sutures and various cortical sulci and gyri. The study found that the hairline provides clinically acceptable spatial accuracy for neurosurgical planning, with the frontal region being constant in 85% of males and 99% of females, and the temporal and occipital regions being constant in 95% to 100% of both sexes. This novel data suggests that the hairline can be used alongside traditional landmarks in neurosurgical approaches.
research Practice and Educational Gaps in Dermatology
Dermatologists often neglect hair disorders due to complexity and lack of clear treatments, impacting patient care and highlighting the need for better education and interest in this area.
research Optical hair removal
Optical hair removal devices showed potential for long-term hair removal in 1999.

Baricitinib helps regrow hair in teens with severe alopecia areata.
research A study of donor area in follicular unit hair transplantation
Narrower donor strips and special closure techniques in hair transplants lead to smaller scars and happier patients.
research Do Hair Bulb Melanocytes Undergo Apotosis During Hair Follicle Regression (Catagen)?
Hair follicle melanocytes die during hair regression.
research Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation
Follicular Unit Transplantation is a precise hair restoration technique that requires careful planning and a skilled team, and Follicular Unit Extraction offers a less invasive option.

research Camouflage during Hair Transplant and Scalp Reduction Surgery
Scalp camouflage is important for patients to feel confident after hair surgery and can also help those with early hair loss.
research International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery
Various techniques and tools for hair restoration were presented in 1998, including a mathematical model for donor area, use of lasers in surgery, methods for controlling grafted hair direction, and ways to increase graft yield. Satisfaction rates were around 39%, and studies showed trauma and dehydration can damage hair follicles.
