Macrophages were found to accumulate near HFSC niches, and their depletion significantly reduced HFSC proliferation, highlighting their essential role in immune–stem cell interactions. This model provides a valuable platform for testing new regenerative strategies and developing advanced cell-based therapies for alopecia and similar disorders.
