Epidermal atrophy refers to the thinning of the outermost layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. This condition can result in the skin becoming more fragile, less elastic, and more prone to injuries and infections. It is often associated with aging, prolonged use of topical corticosteroids, or certain medical conditions like chronic dermatitis.
