April 2025 in “Indian Journal of Dermatology” A 24-year-old male presented with a solitary nodular lesion on the face, diagnosed as a fibrofolliculoma with cystic changes. Fibrofolliculomas are uncommon benign tumors originating from perifollicular mesenchyme, typically appearing as small, dome-shaped papules on the head and neck. While usually associated with Birt–Hogg–Dube syndrome and multiple lesions, solitary fibrofolliculomas are rare and non-hereditary. Histopathological examination revealed characteristic features, including centrally filled keratin material and distorted hair follicles. Surgical excision is the optimal treatment, providing both diagnostic and therapeutic benefits. This case highlights the importance of considering fibrofolliculoma in differential diagnoses for facial lesions.
