technique using antibodies to visualize proteins in cells

Immunocytochemistry (ICC) is a laboratory technique used to detect specific proteins or antigens in cells by using antibodies that bind to them. These antibodies are often linked to a fluorescent dye or an enzyme, which allows scientists to visualize the location and distribution of the target proteins under a microscope. This method is widely used in research and diagnostics to study cell biology, disease mechanisms, and the effects of treatments.
