Trichoscopic and histological examinations revealed features consistent with TTM, such as trichoptilosis and flame hairs, but lacked perifollicular micro-hemorrhages, which are present in about 40% of TTM cases. The study highlights the importance of trichoscopy and histopathology in diagnosing TTM-i to avoid misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment.
